i asked this question a few months ago about Sibanye's investment - for $490M USD in direct funding to the JV for 50% ownership under the current transaction, they could use this money to take INR private and obtain 100% of the project and still have change left over. i doubt anyone else (gina, minres) is coming to fight a takeover for a US based project. what is really going on behind the scenes?
