Thunderbolt, I purchased a Nissan Leaf almost 5 years ago. Gave to my wife to drive around town. Cost about $52,000 from memory.
Best car she’s ever had and she has had many including Mercedes etc. Doesn’t have to go to petrol stations, just plugs it into the power/point when she gets home, usually charging it off the solar for virtually nothing. Has everything she requires and is silent- got to watch pedestrians.
Now paid off, there’s no reason to trade it up to anything else.
Only down-side is its range but it is the vehicle we choose first for any trips around town. I still have a petrol SUV for long trips - we use it about 25% of the time.
So EVs are the way to go in the future, just need to accept their minor limitations in range.
