Reposting this as it underlines there’s at least 3 uses of boron in an EV
1) in magnets with are used to drive the electric motor
2) inside the battery chemistry for better performance/safety
3) in the cars frame/chassis/exterior for strength
Tesla I believe started using “boron steel” around 2015 applying it to the areas which surrounds the battery pack for extra strength. Ford also doing the same thing now. If you do a quick search of Boron Steel Tesla or Ford you can read about it
i would imagine it’s being used by all the Chinese and euro autos now or soon enough.
