I am not convinced by Musk's little speech about all things lithium. I do admire his risk taking and his first class business nous. He has certainly delivered ground breaking progress in the EV industry. This is my hunch, he was deliberately trying to cause discomfort across the industry either to hold out for better pricing or to push the industry to increase supply with different processes and options. The chemical foundations are not settled on yet as an industry standard, where we know true economies of scale can be found.
