Stated simply, there will be no active conservation of the plant if the mine is not approved.
So in it's own best interest, the plant (if it had a mind to think with and a mouth to speak with) would be hoping that it obtains conservation approval.
Otherwise the current trajectory it is on (which the mine has not created but which global warming has created) will continue - Ie., destitution.
Stated simply, there will be no active conservation of the plant...
