I'm not sure why the calculator is giving different values, my understanding was that they would come out equal. Just thinking about it, assuming interest is treated equally, in case A you are paying additional $199.51 fortnightly (or $5,187.26 annually) more off of the principal. So you should pay it off earlier than 25 years, around 21 years looking at below. Unless I'm missing something.
For what it's worth when I purchased earlier this year I went with option A ; 20% deposit and ~25% straight into the Offset. If I lost my job tomorrow I wouldn't have to worry about how I'm going pay the mortgage.
If you go with option B, what are your options if you lose your job or things otherwise don't go to plan?
