You are probably aware we don't make cars in Oz, though the EU does, 85% of which run on fossil fuels. When the EU manage to pull the finger and make 100% EV's, Oz will ship battery chems so the EU can make EV's and clean up their transport sector. Though, the EU's contribution to climate change, by 2025, its likely the Oz battery chem supply will be needed for EB's, electric boats.
The islands west of the EU will be okay, and Oz, being an island, will need a lot EB's, to ensure the movement of boat people from ROW is conducted in an environmentally friendly way. Population growth for Oz will be expediential, therefore increasing the demand for local lithium chem consumption, needing to produce our own EV's.
It's possible that Oz will become self sufficient before 2025, therefore, make all of our own shite. I can already see that extended middle digit, maybe a new national flag is warranted.
