China Guangdong Nuclear has signalled it would only firm up its planned 756 million ($1.2 billion) bid for Kalahari if it gets the ASIC exemption.
    "

I wonder if Honen had anticipated the legal requirements for the Chinese to also bid for EXT by announcing the board would recommend the bid. Afterall he knows the Chinese can never get hold of KAH exclusively so use that as an excuse publicly to tell RIO that auction has started.

    "
"Kalahari has been actively talking to a number of people, and whether it's Japanese, Russians, Chinese, we've been talking to a full swag," Mark Hohnen, chairman of the London-based company, said yesterday in a phone interview. Hohnen said he first visited the headquarters of China Guangdong in May 2009.
    "

Now that he has announced it to the world, the 'auctioneer' is providing all the fundamental information for all the contacted parties to do some due diligence. I wonder if that involves bits of the unfinished DFS or maybe it was finished but not approved by the board for release yet. I thought that was what he had wanted the scenario to be but I didn't think he pursued this strategy so FAST!

Now that the talk of having to bid for EXT and possible involvement of RIO imminent, I would bet that we have some interesting few days ahead. The LT holders are now out in force as we get to the end game. Good luck
