This concept has been technically possible for decades, I was working on a related project for my doctoral back in the late 60s. Whilst technically possible the limiting factor was rate of transmission. This will obviously be improved by high input pressures of syngas and high temperatures. The membranes also need to be as thin as possible.

Cant comment much beyond that. Picked up my old thesis a while back, may as well been written in Gaelic for all I could understand :-)
