Anthony,
I think it is a done deal. Labor cannot turn back on it now*. And besides, even unpopular pieces of legislation, if passed within the first year of a term, have heaps of time to be digested. There will be no eruption within the Labor caucus, IMO. And, this will not be the end of the world as we know it.
But, you never know... It ain't over til the fat lady sings...
Speaking of which... :)
When Christine Milne starts promoting the move from coal to gas-fired power on tv, It is a DONE DEAL! :) When THAT happens, you know something BIG is about to happen to the energy sector!
Yaq
* Imagine for a minute that there WAS a major disruption within the Labor caucus, and they turned around and said to the Greens, NO DEAL. What would happen? Well, an election, for one thing. As which Labor backbencher or minister wants that at the moment..? Nope, they are COMMITTED. It will happen.
