The company is planning to develop geothermal power plants as part of its geothermal development plants in phases of 140 MW each at Olkaria.
The structure offered by KenGen would have developers take over these projects under a joint venture agreement and successful bidders would build and then after 10 to 20 years transfer the facilities back to KenGen.
KenGen expects successful bidders or consortiums to hold a majority share in those joint ventures.
