I don't know about the particular publication but I subscribed to PPP small stock newsletter in 2014/2015 as I was a trader but I was going through a lull so figured why not.
I didn't invest, rather I set up a spreadsheet of wins vs losses if I invested 3k into each option on the day and price that I could.
After 2 years (I feel that's a fair timeframe) I cut off the service due to the fact there was ~20 recommendations in that period and the overall return was -38%.
I still got the promos too and they kept touting the returns they were getting but it was just 2 stocks out of the 20, if you invested evenly you got smashed.
