Diversify is common advise but not universally recommended by everyone.
Warren Buffett for example does not recommend diversification. Here's a quote:
“Opportunities come infrequently. When it rains gold, put out the bucket, not the thimble”
The theory here being that you wait patiently for awesome opportunities and never buy anything unless you are really really sure. Then check it again.
