Exxaro is saying their 12mtpa conceptual study showed the project would not be viable unless infrastructure agreements become more favorable.
Anyone else smell balony here? Exxaro comes out with this after 4-5 months of infrastructure access negotiations have failed to produce a result.
EQX's Scoping Study showed a very viable project.
This is looking a lot like a negotiating tactic by Exxaro to try and drive their OPEX down further, taking advantage of the current low price IO environment to put pressure on the ROC Government to reduce commercial tariff rates.
The question is, how will this hold up with Exxaro affect EQX Mining Convention / Infrastructure Agreement negotiations, if at all?
I get the feeling EQX has a far better relationship with the ROC Government than what Exxaro enjoys.
