Exxaro facing hefty write-down on Mayoko, page-7

I doubt EQX would be in a position to take Mayoko off Exxaro's hands at this point in time unfortunately.

IMO it's important for EQX to now get this Mining Convention signed, and release a PFS to the market. I'm positive this is what management is working on.

The effects of this will be two-fold;

1. It shows the market that EQX is in no way tangled up in what ever mistakes Exxaro has made, with EQX's relationship with the ROC Government being very strong

2. It reminds the market that EQX's project @ 2mtpa is definitely profitable at current IO price levels.

Just how badly has Exxaro stuffed this up? All of that capital spent on purchasing the deposit and required plant & equipment (sitting there waiting in country), but banking on the ROC Government over-turning it's open access policy for the strategy to be viable?

Thank our lucky stars for EQX's strong relationship with the ROC Government.


I wonder what sort of discount Exxaro would have to sell all of those new locomotives and ore containers for...

Buzzcut I went searching for Exxaro's Feasibility Studies but never found them online, I just assumed they didn't have to publish them, but I definitely wouldn't be able to find them if there wasn't any done haha
