Had the most superb eye fillet a week ago and asked the chef if there was any I could buy. Answer, no, but told me where I could buy it wholesale. Have been living off it ever since. Some bbq'd, some pan fried, and some roasted. All cooked BLUE as a still born whale (the only way to eat eye). The meat came from Oakey in Qld and cost $21 a kilo. YES, $21 a kilo. The last time I bought a whole eye fillet it was over $40. The latest came from HBW in Hervey Bay.
Anyone got some interesting recipes for this cut. Cheers jwt
