In Brazils case it will affect their export revenue with its associated flow on effects. This first graphic shows just how important Russian fertilizer imports are for Brazil's agricultural sector. Brazil imports more potash from Russia than China does.
The second graphic shows spot potash prices in the US, Canada and Brazil. Notice how the spot potash price in Brazil has turned up steeply and is pulling away from the US and Canadian spot price.
If the price trend shown continues it is going to have serious implications for Brazil's agricultural sector.
They need to find more domestic supply and quickly.
