Seriously ... notwithstanding the paradigm change over the next decade or three to unmanned combat aircraft ... military expenditure does have significant multiplier effects (and technology spillover) . Although the numbers qouted above are probably wrong (becasue they don't include these flow on effects) , longer term multipliers and spillovers would have flowed from wiser technology and biotechnology investment incentives.
