The F-22 has been surpassed by the F-35. The F-22 is only good for air-air combat and lacks the ability to target land/sea targets (which is 80% of the RAAF workload). Furthermore, it uses 90's software and is not net-centric, meaning each plane is not linked in with the others. F-35's on the other hand can connect together and silently pass information to each other creating a deadly spiders web to the enemy. All the good bits of the F-22 were pinched and incorporated into the F-35. The bad bits, like killing the pilot due to lack of oxygen or high cost/maintence of radar absorbent materials were not carried over to the F-35.
