Mark's full of excuses. No Kers for 20 laps. It's no use at the start. It's a kinetic energy recovery system. Wouldn't have recovered any energy in the formation lap. Kers adds about .3sec per lap with the 60kw recovered from braking. About a pit stop over a length of a race. Finished 47sec behind winner and Vettel was 22 behind, in third. More to do with the Red Bull chewing through tyres and needing 3 stops as 2 would have won them the race,about 22 sec. Finished 6th. Best he could have hoped for was 4th imo. Or 3rd if Vettel let him pass.
