    In 2009 dollars they are not cheaper, they are no longer in production and as I recall they were definitely not for export, no matter how friendly the proposed buyer.

    I'm agnostic on the F35, is is definitely not a dog-fighter, but it's proponents say that if you get into a dog-fight you have made a big error. Who am I to say they are wrong? As systems become more complex I see too much risk in buying from someone other than the Yanks and hoping to integrate systems later. The Yanks won't do it for us.
