As soon as anyone connected to the company or is KMP including relatives is in possession of insider information, they have to exclude themselves from dealing in the companies securities or they are breaking the LAW no matter of any time frame. There are definitions of what insider information is. Generally, under this Policy and Australian law, you are prohibited from dealing in any Securities if you are in possession of any non-public, price sensitive information (‘inside information’). In addition to this general rule, under this Policy you will have rules imposed by the Company which apply to your dealings in ASX Securities and non-ASX Securities.

As in charting I guess there are different interpretations of what constitutes insider information and those could be argued in court between members of the legal profession, but the basics are pretty straight forward at least in theory. However I guess that is also where we can start discussing what a leaky ship is.
