I used to watch the Sydney to Hobart race on boxing day, that harbour, that endless blue sky, and looking outside my window at home it was raining, and getting dark at 4pm. I was 12 years old and decided that's where I wanted to live. I forged my parent's signature and applied for us to emigrate to Australia. Never happened and they weren't impressed. I finally made it here 10 years later and have lived here ever since. Yes I love to travel and experience other cultures. Australia is home, always will be. Today I remember the young men and women who gave up their lives, the sorrow their families experienced, and will forever be grateful to them for the privileges I experience in this beautiful land.
