These big lithium producers guys are only manipulating market by their conflicting announcements. They were quite bearish about the lithium market in last 6-8 months, but they are bullish on their presentations they give to their own shareholders.

SQM Investor Presentation Sept. 10 2019

Here is some comments about SQM's preso on the media, and same of the pages from SQM's latest investor presentation on Sept. 10 2019.

"Chilean lithium producer SQM bullish on white gold demand"
    Reuters

"...SQM expects to invest about $2.1 billion in the next five years to strengthen its production amid an expected increase in demand for the ultralight battery metal, the company told investors in New York on Tuesday". (About $1.332 billion of this investment would be in lithium operations)

"Demand and prices of lithium have been stifled in recent months by global trade tensions, the scaling back of electric vehicle subsidies in China and new output. But Pablo Altimiras, senior vice president for SQM´s lithium and iodine division, said he expects solid demand in the coming years.“The fundamentals support a vision of significant growth in the coming years,” he said.

Considering both demand fundamentals and supply cost structure, equilibrium price could be higher than historic average, even in double digits,” the company presentation said.

We can see from SQM's preso that they are quite bullish on lithium demand, 25% CAGR lithium increase for battery production. That is huge (as expected, might be even higher IMO)

And the lithium hydroxide demand will surpass the lithium carbonate after 2024 or 2025 according to them (IMO it will be earlier).

And they say what I was saying on social media for long time; the majority of lithium supply will be from HARD ROCKS (spodumene based) resources (SQM says "minerals" instead of hard rock). That's why the Australian hard rock resources are so important to the world. That's why LTR's resource is so valuable.
