Chinese subsidies for EVs stopped/limited - and EV sales levelled out, declining somewhat - in China.

The rollout of European EV's starts in 2020 to coincide with the phasing in of strict emissions standards.

The batteries required for the European EV's will be increasingly required from early 2020.

Any more decline in China sales (if any decline from here) will be overtaken by European requirements.

Due to the timing of the above events - I think we are at the bottom of the cycle.

I would hazard a guess that the car manufacturers know this and are jostling for continuity of reliable supply chain from Spod mine to EV Battery and everything in between.

Cars are responsible for around 12% of total EU emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), the main greenhouse gas. Since 2009, EU legislation sets mandatory emissionreduction targets for new cars. The first targets apply since 2015. Stricter targets will apply from 2021 on, with a phase-in from 2020.https://ec.europa.eu/clima/policies/transport/vehicles/cars_en
