I don't think these are new planes per se, they've just restructured the order a bit to lock it in over three years rather than one. Single year orders are a bit more the norm, but with programs like the F-35 it's less of a worry as they're going to buy close to 2000 of them (so the production run will go on) but they tweak the annual deliveries. The problem for the F/A-18 though is that outside of these USN aircraft there is only Kuwait with 28 in the backlog.

There are a lot of fighter procurement programs ongoing though so the chance to pick up some more orders.

Previous QHL releases though have said we're now a Boeing Defense supplier and working on F/A-18 and F-15. Maybe we've picked up some of the production work related to the conformal fuel tanks??
