The old way of axing heads for the quick fix is not going to cut it, the FAA are going for more meaningful changes. Feed back from others in the structure has been mentioned. Most of it of course is around quality control issues.
But a lingering question hanging about is why did a cert engineer at the very last minute concoct a ridiculous low loading test that would be impossible to meet. Delaying for some reason some may ask, sorry but it really does not make any sense or add up. What about those other Boeing engineers who were heavily involved over many years in
CVM application or Sandia labs 15 years of rigorous scrutiny or Delta airlines just going ahead and installing it on their APB improvement?
Wonder if any of those engineers mentioned make comment; interesting.
From Gizmodo.
The report, which was published Monday, was originally requested by Congress in 2023 as part of a legislative effort to enhance security in the airline industry. The report, which was compiled by a panel of industry experts, disturbingly concludes that there is no “objective evidence of a foundational commitment to safety that matched Boeing’s descriptions of that objective.” This newsletter comes from the future. The report notes a “disconnect between Boeing’s senior management and other members of the organization on safety culture” and emphasizes “employee confusion” over safety procedures. Part of the blame for this is placed on shifting expectations at the company, as well as “inadequate and confusing implementation” of safety systems. The panel also found that there was “hesitation in reporting safety concerns for fear of retaliation.”
