Deleting the Facebook app from your phone: In this day and age, deleting the Facebook app is probably the best privacy move anyone could ever make. Why? By using the app, Facebook can and will collect the data from your phone. Simply put, your data is not safe. As wonderful as FB is, it is YOU that is the product. But don't worry, you can still use Facebook as you normally would by just using a web browser, anywhere in the world, and they can't get into your personal information. Some of the data FB can access from your phone is your location and all of your photos unless specifically omitted in settings. More concerning is that Facebook will also collect your contacts and non-contacts straight off your chats such as on WhatsApp, even if your profile is locked it makes no difference and unfortunately it is not possible to avoid this privacy breach in your settings if you've already installed the app. Don't want that agent sending you a friend request? Those coincidental 'friend' suggestions on your Facebook feed are not a coincidence! They're suggestions coming straight off your chats that also go to the other users and all due to the Facebook app. Also, when deleting the Facebook app from your phone a prompt will now pop up 'threatening' to permanently remove all of your FB content if you go ahead, (that made me even more determined to remove it!) And it's actually not the case at all, my Facebook is still there and I can use FB the same as usual on the web anywhere in the world. Nothing has changed, except my data is now a LOT safer.
