Facebook + Weibo , Friends at last....

Thred is integrating 140+ social media brands, apparently the only platform to integrate that many (according to the announcement)...Fuse which has been brought up in a previous PRA thread, only accounts for about 4 or 5.

However, nothing and I mean nothing, is more important than this part of their announcement:

• How to easily create and monitor a private group discussion with friends from networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Weibo and Linkedin at the same time as using SMS and email addresses

do we finally live in a world where we can have social media interaction with our fellow Chinese?

As we all know Facebook is banned in all parts of China, and has been replaced by a Chinese version known as Weibo.

If Thred can now integrate Weibo together with Facebook, we can finally communicate freely with another 1.6 Billion People that had no access to our social media platforms in the past.

The implications of this not only for social use (we all love meeting new chinese people!) but also for digital marketing in the corporate world, whereby businesses will now be able to Social Media market themselves to the Chinese population (as their Facebook/Twitter/Instagram content will appear in Weibo via Thred)


I'm now starting to understand why they are raising money for this  at 100% premium to the last traded price. I'll be buying more in the next week.
