I agree that realistic commercial considerations will apply in negotiating the next Olam contract. If Olam don't have a cost effective alternative then SHV will continue with the contract, at worst at a lower net earnings level.
So what are Olams realistic alternatives in such a short time scale?
A TO is realistic.
'Buying' the executives of one's competitor is another strategy, when the the infrastructure is ready to go.
Perceptions of the US$ effect are impacting on the sp right now, but one unstated minor negative might be the communication-style of the CEO, when answering legitimate questions.
