Whatever. When *we* are down so much on the SP leading up to the most financially draining time of the year and directors are still raking in 5k a week, is this not cause for concern? If the sp was up at 15 cents, maybe Christmas presents wouldn't be so minimal for our families.

And how does consulting differ from base salary? What is he doing in his base job that warrants 100k and is different to his actual job responsibilities to receive an additional 160k? Is it merely a method of reducing income tax?

It's like people who thank the bus driver when he lets them off at a bus stop. It's the bus driver's job to drive the bus. He picks them up, he drops them at the designated stop. The "thank you" is an unnecessary courtesy, much like certain consultancy fees.

The man has a job to do, he does it. If he doesn't do it, he is replaced - this is how the world operates. Receive the consultancy fees when you secure the future of the company - that should be the thank you. The performance rights are his yearly bonus for doing his job and are a privilege, not a right.
