GG has previously stated in a Q&A that consolidation was not on the table and that they would only do a consolidation if they had an imminent growth/ beneficial reason.

(not exact words, but he definitely made a statement in the last Q&A)

As the consolidation has been announced, then GG will need to be true to his words and come forth with the “imminent growth/ beneficial reason”.
