Bruce, the facts of life blurb was more about getting some in the left to look outside the box.

At times I feel the dialogue coming from the left is as if their heads are in the sand. This is only a perception but maybe this is a trait of theirs because, like with the mining tax, sometimes they come up with ideologies founded on utopia principles, as you put it, which get hit by a bus when the real world enters the equation.

Sometimes though, I get the feeling, for all the left going on about in terms of soft skills, their understanding of people is non-existent. For example, they come up with these green ideas like Aztec just mentioned but the do not know how it interrelates with other policies like the budget to enable them to do something about the environment. For example, for Swan in the press club today some lefties went on about no funding for mental disability. Another went on about the lack of value under school stimulus probably for his right newsreaders. For all the reporters' worth no one could connect the dots and say if you achieved value for the school stimulus you could spend more money on the mentally disable.

At the end of the day this is unfortunately the way the world works these days. No one listens to anyone anymore particularly those in power. No one is prepared to change or tilter the wheel which is getting very stagnant. So it just leaves those not in power the choice, just like an investor, whether we want to stay and put up with it or go to another place where the grass is greener!
