Personally I hate to see people suffering from bad decisions but blaming it on others isn't the solution although it helps one feel better.
From where I live in lower north shore, the Gloria Jeans in the Westfield closed down but a new one opened outside on a street corner and is doing fine.
Michel's still there but I'm sure business has gotten tougher as several other cake shops, including a couple good Asian ones, have opened up. It'd probably do better if diversify into serving savoury food such as brunch.
