again ------------ I would be loath to disallow any public gathering - I understand there's a pandemic - and, I understand there's times of war - there's traffic on sydney harbour bridge, there's people asleep at night
but, if it's what enough people want -------- well - it's the pillar of democracy
who am I to dare to go against it?
the danger lies in that if one disallows something because of ?????????????? whatever - then, the exception is precedent
and, bad people stretch precedents like thin rubber bands
also of course - protest groups will use current events to aid the spotlight to shine on their parade - which, I am sure that the latest protesters were more than happy to do ---------------- it's what we do
in the end ------------ it was allowed
no one can say what the results would have been if it was 'controlled' - how far would one go to control it if people insisted???
how far would you go? -------- tear gas? rubber bullets, pepper spray? --------- live ammunition?
