Why is it so hard for the government to see that cross industry subsidised products are killing competition and sole traders?
I believe these activities should be outlawed and each product stand on it's own merits.
How can a sole trader petrol station compete with Coles and Woolies who use supermarket profits to lower petrol prices?
The more entrenched these big conglomerates get the worse it will be. If Coles opened a hamburger chain and sold the equal of big macs for $1 subsidised by their supermarkets can you imaging the uproar from McD, Hungry Jacks etc.
Cross industry subsidisation by the one company needs to stop.
