Eslip - care to share your EV/EBITDA and P/E multiples that you came up with in assessing it was roughly 'fair' priced?

Were you going 16 x ebitda as per beaver above? And what sort of P/E multiple? I have heard loose 9 x P/Es thrown around for commodity/coal companies from analyst i know, due tot he unpredictability of commodities (hence not as easy as an average P/E in the double digits like most other companes) so be interesting to see what you're working off.

I would say that as others said, that's the million dollar question. It's fairly priced until expectations of coal and value is attributed to the resources in the ground... remember back when this was still occuring UNV was well over $0.60.

If coal were to pick up again over the next few years it would be a no brainer that we'd be back up into the $0.40, $0.50 mark given production is now already on the ground.

THe issue is we could be a couple of years away from such... THink we'll bounce around this 12-16c range for sometime, with the 14-16c prices reached when further news/production comes online re: Roodekop and NCC.
