I am a small retailer in WA and I'm hurting big time.I employ 6 staff plus myself and wife.However I believe this wage rise is justified. A bit of luck it will relieve the pressure from friging Barnets continual rises in electricity,water gas etc and bring these people out spending again .Councils are set to raise rates $100 to cover these costs brought on by Barnet.
Small businesses are falling over everywhere,the biggest employer collectively of them all ,yet no one cares.
Catch 22,don't pay them because it hurts, or pay them and hope they spend in your shop.
