Moondoong, IMO setting a precedent whereby government interferes with the media even more than it has already done would be another step along the slippery slope into totalitarianism.
Assemble all of the things Tony Abbott's government has done thus far in relation to censorship of government information, massively increased spending on 'security' and the ABF, ring fencing Parliament House, authorising the use of metadata spying by security agencies, increased spending on WMDs and the ongoing vitriolic attacks against the freedom of the press and IMO alarm bells are starting to ring.
