Melua, comparing TLS back then to now is not a valid exercise. After 15 or 20 years of bad management and poor decisions regarding new technology TLS was very poorly placed to grow/compete. Then the Amigos were hired and they faced the enormous task of almost redesigning TLS from the ground up, which included some serious downsizing, the introduction of new technologies, and improving service,......all the time getting harassed by Govt and the regulator.
Consequently the sp suffered more and more as the war of words continued, however, the big thing that that is often overlooked was that TLS was getting transformed for the best and still achieving growth and growing profits.
Enter the Rudd Govt and the Conroy plan.Without this intervention and the uncertainty it has brought, the sp would be probably over $4 and continueing to climb.
The mess and confusion and uncertainty that TLS faces now is far worse than anything under the previous Govt and it is reflected in the sp.
