Your example is flawed. First off, a human parent is not Omiscient and Omnipotent (the riddle being directly related to Omniscience and Omnipotence) and cannot create a world that is kinder and gentler to children, but would if they could.

A good human parent can only prepare their children to negotiate their way in a cruel and indifferent world, a world that is said to have been created by a loving god, but the same text descibes that god as a 'man of war' and a being who 'does as he pleases on earth and in heaven, described as actively manipulating events in order to demonstrate 'power and glory' - and the reason why your analogy fails.
