I think the Brits are slowly trying to withdraw from N. Ireland but the proddies are giving them a hard time over it. The IRA campaign in Ireland was pretty bloody and as you know extended to the UK mainland where a bomb went off fifty metres from me. What is the UK gvmet doing? Negotiating with the Irish Replic and the IRA over sovereignty. I hope that brings some success. It is also true to say that the catholics who were very discriminated against in the north up until twenty years ago now have much more a fair go. Bloody religion getting in the way again.

BTW Spain made a later claim to the Falklands, which the Brits rejected, and when they decolonised in South America Argentina claimed the Islands on the back of Spains claim.
