In their lettter to shareholders dated 18-12-08 directors were not too concerned about the botched bid and seemed to infer that they would rather not participate as they considered it to be too risky under the conditions. They say it does not affect the profit guidance in any way and that everything remains on track.
I don't think the tender has anything to do with the price coming off today, probably more to do with fund managers coming back from holidays. Or maybe the future fund is dumping stock.
Hopefully we will see a bounce tomorrow.
