Yes, I thought the Dow was going down by 200 point. Surprised to see a slight drop by the close.
The fact that last night, the US managed to survive the bad news regarding the ISM manufacturing also the various motor companies sales figures - it is a slight positive indication. Plenty of talks about recession but the market is concentrating on the Stabilization Plan.
In addition, Buffet bought US$3 billion GM - may indicate a long term bottom.
OZl likes to panic.. quite strange. It would be interesting to know the makeup of the shareholders or traders..
The other possibility someone is trying to buy on the cheap.. . Only 130K shorts were covered yesterday.
