FMG must be starting to look very attractive to BHP atm. 95% of the 3rd party shared rail issue would disappear uncontested.
FMG does have a $6b debt, but then again if BHP is successful with a Rio takeover, it too has a debt legacy to pass onto BHP.
No doubt, BHP will be happy to allow FMG to simmer on the pot and should it fail in its bid to takeover Rio, it may be time the ideal time to turn up the heat on FMG.
