Fallon reminds me of Powel's utterance: "They're all crazy in there!"
It's simple really, the W/house is ruled by neo-cons who will tolerate no dissenting voices. They're there to protect the "interests" of Israel and nothing will compromise that, even if it means the total annihilation of the States which is now fast approaching.
Iran wanted to approach the States even before 911 and help them with the threat of Al Queda but, Bush (the neo-con puppet) spouted out the "axis of evil" garbage, along with "either with us or with the terrorists" and so, the hard liners in Iran saw that as an apt opportunity to withdraw whatever good intentions they had and to get their backs up. Once again like they've done so often in the past, they drew themselves into a corner of no compromise.
Fallon told them that, they paid no attention to him, forcing him, on the contrary to get out of the W/house.
But
It was good to hear that the Pentagon (the generals) are rather reluctant to follow the neo-cons in their belligerent ambitions.
The Bush administration will be stupid to open another war front. They can't handle the two they've got going now. But, they could probably spin out a "victory" speech, get out of Iraq (in some measure) and begin the new front. Everyone knows that they're going to cop massive losses on that front also but the neo-cons in the W/house will be rejoicing all the way to the bank.
