A lot of the Labor political staffers one in Albo’s office, Skye Laris, incoming Energy and Employment Minister Tony Burke’s wife, have worked for AGL in their public affairs and regulatory Affairs teams amongst other teams. labor and not LNP have been all over AGL in most recent past.

after Len Bleazel left and Carolyn Hewson left the Board, under Andy Vesey amongst others, AGL has been IMHO stacked with Labor affiliated people such as Skye in their “Public Affairs”, “Regulatory Affairs”, Marketing and “Markets” teams.

AGL has had a lot of support from the labor unions such as at Loy Yang, in fact other than Bob Hawke affiliated Rod Sims at the ACCC, Labor has been a boon for AGL throughout its recent history.

I believe and it is IMHO Pls DYOR AGL would be back into the $20s under Labor and if Labor win, AGL would IMHO be mad to demerge.

If Morrison gets back, perhaps the merger is worth it purely from a SP and reclaim of capital basis.

Under Labor, companies like AGL, Neurizer in SA, WA Stokes Seven West media based Woodside, perhaps SANTOS, another potentially Labor stacked company do better than Chinese Light and Power’s EnergyAustralia, Beijing owned Alinta, Origin energy, Boral, BHP, RIO, Spark Infratructure, Ausnet,, APA, and others will not do so well under the heavy regulators Labor installs.

AGL will be more heavily regulated and face far more consumer protection which will increase costs but other energy companies will have much higher costs and may not be able to profit from heavier regulation as much as AGL will by Labor coming to power and imposing barriers to entry into the market,
