Guys please keep the pure political stuff out of here and post on the Politics forum if you have to. I'm more interested in how politics, social moods and markets interact. As far as I'm concerned all politicians are useless, which is why we are in the mess we are in. Same goes with the US, UK, Greece, etc.. I believe it's all related to the social mood, namely complacency, greed, laziness and apathy, which are traits of any civilisation or empire in it's downfall. The classic example is the Roman Empire but there are many others (ancient Greece for example). They all have a common pattern where social mood changes for the worse and leads to a decay in the society in general and the economy specifically. So, the US is lost. Our only hope for us to continue to trade markets like the XJO is for us to hang our hats on the hope the Chindia boom won't suffer too much of a downturn before it resumes with gusto.
