Sorry Vendor..can't agree. Your Scenario 1 is based on a falling shareprice and Scenario 2 is based on a rising shareprice. Of course the end result is going to favour the rising market. By averaging down, I can have a modicum of control over my overall entry price. Averaging up is fine if the share keeps rising but as Quackie pointed out, that's commonly called accumulation.
