I love the way the US press are manipulating this.

Here is a recent headline form the Wall Street Journal:

Fed's Rosengren: Tapering may come in few months

Now here is what he actually said:

It may make sense to consider a modest reduction in the pace of the Federal Reserve's asset purchases if there are a few more months of gradual improvement in the labor market and the economy, said Eric Rosengren, the president of the Boston Fed Bank, on Wednesday. At the moment, it would be "premature" to stop quantitative easing with the unemployment rate well above full employment and with core inflation close to the low point for the past 30 years,

So, in other words:

We are not stopping QE until we get consistent statistics showing us that the economy is stable.

My take on this is that QE is here for some time to come; probably at least the next 12 months. Beyond that who knows?
